about

Parody of Echoes by Pink Floyd. This was an old parody that was conceptualized under Nuclear Bubble Wrap in like 2011, and it's been re-purposed here. Also, REAL DRUMS!

lyrics

Overhead the maple drop hangs motionless above the plate
Surrounded by the dinner forks
And butter knives and plastic sporks
The Eggo of a distant meal was calling me into this place
Where everything you see is syrupy

Then I see to my surprise
My waffle’s burnt along the sides
I look the waitress in the eyes
And then I scream “go make it right”

Waiting patient in my seat, I watch the other people eat
And no one else complains, how can that be?
I get my plate, lo and behold… it’s one degree too cold
I guess she’s stupid so I say it slow…

This waffle is a huge disgrace
It’s nowhere near the perfect size
This breakfast needs to be revised
Before it flies into your face

The waitress brings a plate to me, exhaustion in her eyes
It has to be about the eighteenth time
I grow impatient with the way they haven’t made my breakfast right
It’s midnight now and I’ve been here since morning

But this time it’s a bit askew
And no one really has a clue
And so I scream “no tip for you”
And throw the plate across the room
